Pre School

Pre-school Gymnastics is SALTO's grass roots. We lay the foundation for your child’s physical development in a fun, exciting and safe environment. We focus on enhancing your child’s gross motor skills and introduce the first exciting stages of gymnastics.
Recreational Gymnastics

Recreational Gymnastics aim produce quality gymnastics that any child irrespective of ability can enjoy. We have classes for boys and girls. Gymnasts may be selected to advance to competitive gymnastics squads if the demonstrate potential and required skills progression.
General Gymnastics

General Gymnastics is a competitive gymnastics for both boys and girls. These are squads and have their own set of competition rules. The gymnasts compete on similar groups of apparatus to Women's and Men's Artistic but it is not compulsory to compete on all types of apparatus. There are a range of competitions at County and Regional level leading on to National Finals.
Mens Artistic Gymnastics

Men’s Artistic Gymnastics – Master of six pieces of apparatus, each different to the other and requiring a combination of strength, mobility, endurance, flexibility, body control and co-ordination.
Womens Artistic Gymnastics

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics – master of four pieces of apparatus, each different to the other and requiring a combination of strength, mobility, endurance, flexibility, body control and co-ordination.
Tumbling

Tumbling is a truly breath taking type of gymnastics and is characterised by the complex, swift and rhythmical succession of acrobatic bounding. A tumbling pass may be over in a matter of seconds and is performed on a tumbling track that is 25 meters in length.
Acrobatic Gymnastics

Acrobatic Gymnastics (previously called Sport Acrobatics and nicknamed "Acro") is a modern and artistic discipline, which requires courage and trust among gymnasts.

Regrettably, such is the popularity of Gymnastics as a sport and SALTO as a club that there are waiting lists for most disciplines to join as new members, These are constantly monitored and as spaces become available or new classes are added, we contact all those waiting in strict order based on the time waiting and any specific requirements set out when first registering on the list.

Our Coaches

This is a list of our current group of dedicated and enthusiastic coaches. Some may have qualifications in several gymnastics disciplines and others may be speciialised in one area of interest. or they may be at the start of their coaching career and be members of our Young Leaders Programme. The Club is committed to the continuous professional development of its coaching team. All Coaches have the relevant DBS and Child Safeguarding in place to comply with British Gymnastics requirements
